Japanese film screenings at Japan Foundation

From August 9th-22nd 2014, Japan Foundation will be running free screenings of several Japanese movies. You can view a full list and summary of the movies here.

One movie that I really look forward to seeing in Jiro Dreams of Sushi:

Another movie which also looks quite interesting is in fact an animation, called Barefoot Gen.  The animation was realised in 1983, and I do believe a live action movie has also been released since then. Set during the second World War, it depicts the lives of people in Japan before and after the atomic bomb was dropped.

On a more cheerful note there are two other movies I would also like to see; both about friendship and sportsmanship:

Bushido Sixteen

Waterboys

To view anyone of these screenings you can reserve a place by emailing your name and the screening you would like to attend to event@jpf.org.uk
