The only time I’ve been to Japan was during the New Year. And what did I continously hear people say? Not 明けましておめでとうございますakemashite omedetou gozaimasu, but akeome! As you might already know, Japanese like to shorten their phrases a lot 😀
Another one I’ve heard is あけおめことよろakeomekotoyoro. Can you guess what that is short for? もちろん、明けましておめでとうございます、今年もよろしくakemashite omedetou gozaimasu, kotoshimo yoroshiku.
