手に入る

手に入る (てにはいる)

te ni hairu is one of my favorite expressions! It’s meaning in english is “obtain”. But what I love most about this expression is it’s literal translation: “in your hand”. It spews imagery of having to literally grasp something (tangible or not) in your hand and holding on to it. In my opinion that demonstrates effort and reward, to have to do as such in order to “obtain”.
